Informed Consent Policy
The International Journal of Medical Science in Clinical Research & Review (IJMSCRR) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of individuals participating in research.
1. Requirement of Informed Consent
Authors must obtain written informed consent from all individuals who are identifiable in a manuscript, including images, case reports, or clinical descriptions.
For minors or individuals unable to provide consent, written permission must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Protection of Patient Identity
- Personal identifiers such as names, initials, hospital numbers, or exact addresses must not be published
- Authors must ensure that patient anonymity is preserved
- Masking techniques (e.g., covering eyes in images) are not sufficient to guarantee anonymity
3. Scope of Consent
Patients must be informed that:
- Their clinical information may be published in print and online formats
- Published material may be freely accessible on the internet
4. Declaration in Manuscript
Authors must include a statement in the manuscript such as:
“Written informed consent was obtained from the patient(s) for publication of this study and accompanying images.”
5. Retention of Consent Forms
Authors are responsible for retaining signed consent forms and must provide them to the journal upon request.
6. Ethical Responsibility
If there is any doubt regarding patient anonymity, informed consent must always be obtained prior to submission.
